Plasti-Grit® plastic blast media is made from 100% recycled materials. This eco-friendly abrasive is used in industrial cleaning and paint removal processes. Plastic media abrasives effuiently strip epoxies, powder coatings, primers, paints and coatings from steel, hard metals, brass, aluminum, plastics, composites and fiberglass.

Plasti-Grit® is manufactured in 5 grades of hardness (Urea, Melamine, Clear-Cut®, Acrylic and Polyester) in all standard sizes and meets MIL-P-85981.

Blasting with Plastic Media prevents damage to delicate substrates and is therefore an excellent alternative to hard abrasives as well as chemical stripping. Plastic abrasives can be reclaimed many times, offering excellent cost benefits.

Plastic media is commonly used to remove paint from cars, trucks, airplanes, boats, trains, helicopters, components and parts.

In contrast, PMB is an effective method for stripping all types of metals. It removes all or a part of a cured powder coating from the surface of a part without causing any damage. Figure 2 shows the PMB process used for removing powder coatings from components.

British Aerospace Hawk Jet airplane is carefully masked, and then its paint is blasted using plastic media in preparation for re-painting.

Plastic Blast Media competently strips paint from an extensive variety of substrates including steel, fiberglass, rubber, aluminum and composites. With carefully determined air pressure, media size and type, plastic abrasives offer cost and time advantages over other paint removal methods.
